The programme was first introduced in Vietnam this year by the Chemical Society of Thailand, with sponsorship from the Bangkok Bank PCL of Thailand in collaboration with the Chemical Society of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City and the University of Science - Ho Chi Minh City, after its success in Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia and Cambodia.

The programme aims to introduce science teachers at high school level to using a small scale chemistry approach as means of performing practical chemistry
experiments in order to enhance effectiveness of science teaching and attract the students’ interests.

A 100 selected high school chemistry teachers in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Vietnam as well as the Mekong Delta region attended the two-day workshop and developed new techniques to enhance thier chemistry teaching skills.
