Non-Immigrant B or IB* – Working in Thailand | Thị thực Đi làm tại Thái Lan

It is no longer required for in-person submission of application. Applicants can now apply for an e-Visa online through the new e-Visa platform at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/

1. Requirement

This type of visa is issued to applicants who intend to take up employment in Thailand.

2. Document Required

2.1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document with validity not less than six months

2.2. Photograph taken within the last six months

2.4. Document indicating current location

2.5. Financial evidence: amount of no less than 30,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter

2.7. Copy of ANY these letter that has been approval and issued by the Ministry of Labour:

(1) Copy of WP.32 letter: to obtain this letter, the applicant’s prospective employer in Thailand is required to submit a Request Form at the office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour (Tel. 02-2452745).

**Japanese nationals are exempted from submitting this letter.

(2) Copy of BOI letter: to obtain this letter, the applicant's prospective employer in Thailand is required to submit Form BOI at the Thailand Board of Investment at the website https://www.boi.go.th/index.php.

(3) Copy of Work Permit Book issued by the Ministry of Labour, including alien income tax (Por Ngor Dor 91).

3. Period of Stay

Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days. He or she may apply for an extension of stay at the Office of the Immigration Bureau located at Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel. 0-2141-9889 or at website www.immigration.go.th and may be granted such extension for a period of one year from the date of first entry into Thailand.

4. Validity of Visa: 3 months

5. Visa Fee

- Visa processing fee: 80 USD

- Payment method: Payment must be made using debit or credit cards ONLY.

- The visa fee is non-refundable. 

6. Processing Time: 5 working days

- If your visa application is incomplete, the processing time will reset on the day you submit the additional documents.

- If you submit your visa application on a Saturday or Sunday, the first day of processing will be the following Monday.

- The processing time can take longer for certain cases.

7. Additional Information

- Upon entry into the Kingdom, applicant appointed representatives must apply for a work permit at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour in which the applicant will be obligated to pay income tax accordingly. Foreign workers must apply for a work permit at the employment office in the province, where the partner company is located.

- Applicant’s family members are eligible to apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa (category “O” accompanying family: Click) and will be allowed to stay for a period of 90 days but no longer than 1 year.

- Foreign citizens who hold a Transit Visa (“TS”) or Tourist Visa (“TR”) and wish to engage in business activities in Thailand may apply for a change of type of visa (e.g., from Tourist Visa to Non-Immigrant Visa) at the Office of the Immigration Bureau Office located at Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel. 0-2141-9889 or at the website www.immigration.go.th. The granting of change of type of visa and extension of stay is at the discretion of the immigration office.

- The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh reserves the rights to request additional documents, interviews, or to disapprove as deemed necessary.

- An alien who receives a Non-Immigrant visa can work in Thailand once he or she is being granted a work permit. An alien in violation of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979) concerning taking up employment without work permit or the Royal Decree B.E.2522 (1979) concerning holding employment in certain restricted occupations and professions shall be prosecuted and imprisoned or fined, or shall face both penalties.

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to conduct/visit business.

2. Document Required

2.1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document with validity not less than six months

2.2. Photograph taken within the last six months

2.3. Document indicating current location

2.4. Financial evidence: amount of no less than 30,000 THB (Single), 120,000 THB (Multiple), e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter

2.5. Invitation letter from the company in Thailand stating purpose of visit(s)

3. Period of Stay

Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days. He or she may apply for an extension of stay at the Office of the Immigration Bureau located at Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel. 0-2141-9889 or at website www.immigration.go.th and may be granted such extension for a period of one year from the date of first entry into Thailand.

1. Requirement

This type of visa is issued to applicants who intend to take up employment as a teacher in school or university level in Thailand.

2. Document Required

2.1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document with validity not less than six months

2.2. Photograph taken within the last six months

2.3. Document indicating current location

2.4. Financial evidence: amount of no less than 30,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter

2.5. Letter from relevant authority such as Ministry of Education, University, International School

2.6. Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of residence

2.7. For who will be teacher in private school or institution will need these following documents:

(1) School license/Business registration

(2) School profile

Notes: Copies of company documents must be signed by the Board of Directors or authorized managing director and affixed seal of company.

Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days.
