Non-Immigrant ED – Curricular Internship in Thailand | Thị thực Đi Thực tập Bắt buộc tại Thái Lan

It is no longer required for in-person submission of application. Applicants can now apply for an e-Visa online through the new e-Visa platform at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/

1. Requirement

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to attend a curricular internship in Thailand.

2. Document Required

2.1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document with validity not less than six months

2.2. Photograph taken within the last six months

2.3. Document indicating current location

2.4. Financial evidence e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter covering living expenses

2.5. Letter confirming the curricular internship from the visa applicant’s university/educational institute

2.6. Letter confirming the internship/participation in a program from the company/international organization

3. Period of Stay

Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days. He or she may apply for an extension of stay at the Office of the Immigration Bureau at Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel. 0-2141-9889 or at website www.immigration.go.th and may be granted such extension for a period of one year from the date of first entry into Thailand.

5. Visa Fee

- Single entry: 80 USD

- Payment method: Payment must be made using debit or credit cards ONLY.

- The visa fee is non-refundable.

6. Processing Time: 5 working days

- If your visa application is incomplete, the processing time will reset on the day you submit the additional documents.

- If you submit your visa application on a Saturday or Sunday, the first day of processing will be the following Monday.

- The processing time can take longer for certain cases.

- The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh reserves the rights to request additional documents, interviews, or to disapprove as deemed necessary.

- An alien who receives a Non-Immigrant visa can work in Thailand once he or she is being granted a work permit. An alien in violation of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979) concerning taking up employment without work permit or the Royal Decree B.E.2522 (1979) concerning holding employment in certain restricted occupations and professions shall be prosecuted and imprisoned or fined, or shall face both penalties.

2.4. Financial evidence: amount of no less than 30,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter

2.5. Letter confirming the internship/participation from the company in Thailand

Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days.
