เมื่อวันที่ 4 ธันวาคม 2568 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครโฮจิมินห์ ได้จัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองเนื่องในโอกาสวันคล้ายวันพระบรมราชสมภพของพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร วันชาติ และวันพ่อแห่งชาติ 5 ธันวาคม 2568 ณ โรงแรม Le Méridien Saigon นครโฮจิมินห์ โดยมี นาย Tran Van Bay รองประธานคณะกรรมการประชาชนนครโฮจิมินห์ เป็นแขกเกียรติยศ และมีผู้เข้าร่วมงานกว่า 250 คน ประกอบไปด้วยคณะกงสุลต่างประเทศในนครโฮจิมินห์ กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ ผู้แทนระดับสูงจากกรมการต่างประเทศนครโฮจิมินห์ และหน่วยงานภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งในโฮจิมินห์และจังหวัดในเขตกงสุล มหาวิทยาลัย สื่อมวลชน สหพันธ์องค์กรมิตรภภาพจังหวัดต่าง ๆ พร้อมด้วยภาคเอกชนเวียดนาม เอกชนต่างประเทศ นักธุรกิจและผู้แทนสมาคม/หอการค้าต่างประเทศ ตลอดจนชุมชนไทยในนครโฮจิมินห์และจังหวัดในเขตกงสุล
ในโอกาสนี้ นางสาววีรกา มุทิตาภรณ์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครโฮจิมินห์ ได้กล่าวต้อนรับแขกผู้มีเกียรติ โดยในปี 2568 ปวงชนชาวไทยต้องประสบกับความสูญเสียครั้งยิ่งใหญ่จากการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ในนามของรัฐบาลไทย กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ขอแสดงความขอบคุณมิตรชาวเวียดนามที่ได้ร่วมแสดงความเสียใจและส่งกำลังใจให้แก่รัฐบาลและประชาชนไทยในช่วงเวลาอันยากลำบากนี้ พร้อมทั้งแสดงความเสียใจต่อเหตุการณ์การสูญเสียจากเหตุการณ์อุทกภัยในภาคกลางของเวียดนามเมื่อเดือนพฤศจิกายนที่ผ่านมา
ทั้งนี้ ในปี 2568 ถือเป็นปีที่มีความสำคัญต่อความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีไทย-เวียดนาม โดยเมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคม 2568 ทั้งสองประเทศได้ยกกระดับความสัมพันธ์เป็น “หุ้นส่วนยุทธศาสตร์รอบด้าน (Comprehensive Strategic Partnership: CSP)” ในระหว่างการเยือนเวียดนามอย่างเป็นทางการของนายกรัฐมนตรีไทย ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานสำคัญในการพัฒนาและต่อยอดความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกัน ซึ่งปัจจุบันไทยเป็นคู่ค้าอันดับ 1 ของเวียดนามในภูมิภาคอาเซียน และลำดับที่ 5 ทั่วโลก มีการลงทุนสะสมในลำดับที่ 9 ของนักลงทุนต่างชาติในเวียดนาม นอกจากนั้น ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้เห็นพ้องกับยุทธศาสตร์ “สามเชื่อมโยง (Three Connects)” ซึ่งเป็นกลไกหลักของการผลักดันความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทย-เวียดนาม โดยให้ความสำคัญกับ (1) การเชื่อมโยงห่วงโซ่อุปทาน (2) การส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจท้องถิ่น และ (3) การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน
ในโอกาสเดียวกัน กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้ย้ำถึงพัฒนาการของความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีในด้านอื่น ๆ โดยเฉพาะด้านการศึกษา ซึ่งรัฐบาลไทยโดยกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้ส่งเสริมการเรียนการสอนไทยศึกษา และภาษาไทย ร่วมมือกับสถาบันการศึกษาของเวียดนามทั้งนครโฮจิมินห์ และนครดานัง เป็นเวลากว่า 30 ปี ผลิตบัณฑิตชาวเวียดนามที่มีคุณภาพและมีบทบาทสำคัญในภาคธุรกิจของไทยในเวียดนาม ในด้านศิลปะและวัฒนธรรม สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้จัดงาน "เทศกาลไทย" เป็นครั้งแรกในรอบ 10 ปี และจัด "งานแสดงภาพเขียน Color of Saigon” ของศิลปินชาวไทย ตลอดจนจัด "โครงการส่งเสริมการรับรู้เกี่ยวกับอาหารไทย (Thai Cooking Class)" ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับที่ดีมาก รวมถึงสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าต่างประเทศ นครโฮจิมินห์ ได้มอบรางวัล Thai Select ให้แก่ร้านอาหารไทยจำนวน 9 แห่ง ในนครโฮจิมินห์และนครดานัง เพื่อเป็นเครื่องหมายการันตีคุณภาพและมาตรฐาน ทั้งหมดนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อมโยงที่หยั่งลึกไปในระดับประชาชนที่แน่นแฟ้นอย่างยิ่ง ทั้งนี้ สำหรับปี 2569 นอกจากจะเป็นปีที่เวียดนาม โดยเฉพาะนครโฮจิมินห์จะเข้าสู่วาระการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมที่สำคัญแล้ว ไทยและเวียดนามจะเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 50 ปี ความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตด้วย ซึ่งจะมีกิจกรรมทั้งด้านเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และวัฒนธรรมที่จะ ต่อยอดพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์ที่มีอยู่ให้แน่นแฟ้นมากยิ่งขึ้น
ในขณะเดียวกัน นาย Tran Van Bay รองประธานคณะกรรมการประชาชนนครโฮจิมินห์ ในฐานะแขกเกียรติยศ ได้กล่าวแสดงความยินดีต่อกงสุลใหญ่ฯ และประชาชนชาวไทยในโอกาสวันชาติและวันพ่อแห่งชาติของไทย พร้อมทั้งแสดงความเสียใจต่อจังหวัดทางภาคใต้ของไทยที่ประสบอุทกภัยรุนแรงในช่วงที่ผ่านมา รองประธานฯ เน้นย้ำถึงการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจของไทย ความก้าวหน้าด้านเทคโนโลยีและการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน รวมถึงความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นระหว่างไทยและเวียดนาม ซึ่งได้ยกระดับสู่หุ้นส่วนยุทธศาสตร์รอบด้านในปี 2568 โดยกล่าวถึงความร่วมมือที่แน่นแฟ้นในด้านเศรษฐกิจ โดยไทยเป็นคู่ค้าอันดับ 1 ของเวียดนามในอาเซียน และเป็นนักลงทุนรายสำคัญ มีความร่วมมือครอบคลุมการเชื่อมโยงห่วงโซ่อุปทาน การเชื่อมโยงระหว่างภาคธุรกิจและท้องถิ่น การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ตลอดจนความร่วมมือด้านการท่องเที่ยว
Furthermore, the Vice President mentioned other dimensions of the relationship, including cultural and people-to-people ties, where the Consulate-General plays a leading role, such as organizing the Thai Festival in 2025 and the regular blood donation drives twice a year. These activities contribute to enhancing understanding between the people of both countries. These collaborations are particularly important on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026. The Vice President reaffirmed Ho Chi Minh City's commitment to strengthening close ties with Thailand and commended the role of the Consulate-General and the Thai community in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City will continue to serve as a bridge to further strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam.
Furthermore, the activities at the reception included (1) an exhibition on the royal duties of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City Office; (2) a Thai Select booth by the Thai Trade Promotion Office in Ho Chi Minh City; (3) a booth promoting Thai private sector products and services; and (4) a reception featuring Thai food and desserts from four Thai restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City that received the 2025 Thai Select Award: Chang Thong Restaurant, Chatuchak Restaurant, Pad Thai Restaurant, and Som Tum Zaap Restaurant.

On December 4, 2025, the Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City hosted a reception to commemorate the birthday of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, Thailand's National Day, and Father's Day (December 5, 2025) at the Le Méridien Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Tran Van Bay, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, attended as an honored guest. The event was attended by over 250 delegates, including representatives from foreign consulates in Ho Chi Minh City, honorary consuls, senior representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, and relevant government agencies in the city. Representatives from Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces in the consular region, universities, press agencies, the Union of Friendship Organizations of the provinces, as well as representatives of the Vietnamese private sector, foreign businesses, entrepreneurs, representatives of foreign associations and chambers of commerce, and the Thai community in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces in the consular region, were present.
In her welcoming remarks at the ceremony, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that 2025 was a year of great loss for the Thai people following the passing of Queen Mother Sirikit. On behalf of the Thai Government, the Consul General expressed sincere gratitude to the Vietnamese people for their condolences and encouragement to the Thai Government and people during this difficult period, and also expressed deep sympathy for the damage caused by the floods in central Vietnam last November.
The Consul General emphasized that 2025 is of particular importance to the bilateral relationship between Thailand and Vietnam, as the two countries officially upgraded their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" (CSP) in May 2025 during the official visit of the Thai Prime Minister to Vietnam. This is considered an important foundation for further strengthening and developing bilateral relations. Currently, Thailand is Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN and ranks 5th in the world, and also ranks 9th in terms of total accumulated investment among foreign investors in Vietnam. The two sides have also agreed to promote the "Three Connects" strategy, considered the main mechanism in promoting economic cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam, focusing on (1) connecting supply chains, (2) promoting local economies and (3) sustainable development.
On this occasion, the Consul General also mentioned positive progress in other areas of cooperation, particularly education. For over 30 years, the Thai government, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has collaborated with educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to promote the teaching of Thai studies and the Thai language, training many high-quality Vietnamese graduates who now play important roles in the Thai business community in Vietnam. In the field of culture and arts, the Consulate General organized the first "Thai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City" in 10 years, the "Color of Saigon" art exhibition by Thai artists, and the "Thai Cooking Class" program, all of which received positive responses. In addition, the Thai Trade Promotion Office in Ho Chi Minh City awarded Thai Select certification to nine Thai restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, affirming the quality and standards of Thai cuisine. These activities demonstrate the deep people-to-people ties between the two countries. In particular, 2026 is not only a year of breakthroughs for Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, in socio-economic development, but it also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam, promising many economic, social, and cultural activities to further deepen the relationship between the two nations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Bay, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, extended congratulations to the Consulate General and the people of Thailand on the occasion of Thailand's National Day and Father's Day, and offered condolences for the damage caused by the severe floods in the southern provinces of Thailand recently. The Vice Chairman emphasized Thailand's economic development, technological progress, and sustainable development orientation, as well as the strong bond between the two countries, especially after being upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025. He highly appreciated bilateral economic cooperation, noting that Thailand is Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN and one of the important investors, with comprehensive cooperation in areas such as supply chain connectivity, business and local linkages, sustainable development, and tourism.
Furthermore, the Vice Chairman also mentioned cooperation in cultural fields and people-to-people exchanges, acknowledging the positive role of the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, such as organizing the 2025 Thailand Festival and conducting regular blood donation activities twice a year, contributing to strengthening understanding and ties between the people of the two countries. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, he affirmed Ho Chi Minh City's commitment to continuing to promote friendly relations with Thailand, while also appreciating the role of the Consulate General and the Thai community in Ho Chi Minh City, considering the city an important bridge in further deepening Thailand-Vietnam relations.
In addition, highlights of the party included: (1) an exhibition on the royal activities of Queen Sirikit, organized by the Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand – Ho Chi Minh City Office; (2) a Thai Select booth by the Trade Promotion Office of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City; (3) a booth showcasing products and services of Thai private enterprises; and (4) a reception with Thai dishes and desserts served by 4 Thai Select 2025 certified restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, including Chang Thong, Jatujak, Pad Thai and Somtam Zaap.
