The Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City attended the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham) and witnessed the election of the new President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam.
On 26 February 2025, Ms. Weeraka Mutitaporn, Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, attended the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham) as an advisor. The meeting was held at the Saigon Prince Hotel, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, and was attended by Mr. Prawin Virojphan, ThaiCham Chairman, Board of Directors and 86 members.
On this occasion, Ms. Uravadee Sripirom, Ambassador of Thailand to Hanoi as Advisor, delivered an Opening speech via video conference to congratulate and thank the current ThaiCham Committee for their success in implementing various activities, which can create a stronger network and be more widely known abroad, as well as support and promote various projects and activities of the Royal Thai Embassy throughout the past period. The Ambassador confirmed the readiness of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Consulate-General to support and promote the activities of the new ThaiCham Chairman and Committee to be elected in order to strengthen the Thai private sector in Vietnam and promote the relationship between Thailand and Vietnam to develop further, especially in the context that Thailand and Vietnam are jointly pushing for the goal of upgrading the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the future.
In the meeting, the representatives of the ThaiCham board reported to the meeting about ThaiCham's performance in 2024, including presenting the 2025 work plan regarding organizing academic seminars to report information on the economy, trade, and investment for members, activities to strengthen relationships among ThaiCham members, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. In addition, at the end of the meeting, the election of a new ThaiCham president for the 2025-2027 term was held. ThaiCham members voted to elect Mr. Prawin Virojphan, Managing Director of SCG Vietnam, as the ThaiCham president for the 2025-2027 term continuously, with a unanimous vote.

The meeting was held at Saigon Prince Hotel, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of Mr. Praween Wirotpan, Chairman of ThaiCham, Executive Committee and ThaiCham members, a total of 86 people.
On this occasion, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador of Thailand to Hanoi in her capacity as Advisor, delivered an online opening speech to congratulate and thank the current ThaiCham Executive Committee for successfully organizing various activities, contributing to building a strong network and being more widely known abroad. At the same time, she has supported and promoted various projects and activities of the Thai Embassy over the past time. On this occasion, the Ambassador also affirmed the readiness of the Thai Embassy in Hanoi and the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to support and promote the activities of the new Chairman and Executive Committee of ThaiCham. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the Thai private sector in Vietnam and promoting the relationship between Thailand and Vietnam to develop further. Especially in the context that Thailand and Vietnam are together promoting the goal of upgrading relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the future.
At the conference, the representative of the ThaiCham Executive Board reported on ThaiCham's activities in 2024, the 2025 annual plan for organizing scientific seminars to report economic, trade and investment information to members as well as organizing activities to strengthen the relationship between ThaiCham members and social activities (CSR). In addition, at the end of the meeting, the election of a new ThaiCham Chairman for the 2025-2027 term was held. ThaiCham members voted and unanimously elected Mr. Praween Wirotpan - CEO of SCG Vietnam to continue to hold the position of ThaiCham Chairman for the 2025-2027 term.
